SIMPLE SOLUTIONS TO ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

John F. Kennedy once said:

“For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.”

John F. Kennedy, Commencement Address at American University, Washington, DC, June 10, 1963.

In this difficult economic environment, our environmental resources are more at risk of degradation than in better times. Technology advances in an effort to find more cost efficient solutions. Some of the “new solutions” create new forms of pollution, or they create more of the same kinds of past pollution.  There are new technologies that can achieve the twin goals of maximizing profit and at the same time be even more protective of our environment. This is what they call “sustainable development”.

People are inventing new ways to damage the environment and yet are slow to come up with new solutions to repair and protect our environment. The governmental authorities that have the social responsibility to enforce existing environmental prohibitions are running out of resources and are unable to keep pace with the extent of the degradation that is occurring daily.

There are bright new ideas and solutions that are coming forward, new technologies that result in sustainable solutions – new products and creative services (for reasonably good profit) which are protective of our air, water and land.   These new “green” technologies are promising,  They will deliver new solutions.

Kean Law is a Texas based law firm founded on the principle that we can achieve the twin goals of economic prosperity and environmental protection.

Clients of the firm must subscribe to the following principles:

1. Environmental challenges are always incredibly complex.

2. History can inform future solutions.

3. New technology can provide promising new outcomes.

4. Solving environmental problems requires cooperation and compromise.

5. Meeting minimum requirements is required; exceeding them is the goal.

6. Challenges can be solved by extending respect and courtesy to all concerned.

We strive to provide top quality environmental legal services to companies and individuals who respect the environment and want to prosper by treating the environment and all those who have an interest in it with the utmost of respect and civility.

“You would be surprised, my dear Mr. Conway, how a little courtesy all around, helps to smooth out the most complicated problems…” Father Perrault, “Lost Horizon” 1938
